/ˈræb.ɪt/
one of the last sounds many children master
Some sounds take longer to learn than others. We help children say sounds clearly so family, teachers and friends understand them the first time.

Everyone repeats or pauses sometimes. These are the patterns that are worth a conversation when they happen often.
Swapping sounds
wabbit
Saying one sound in place of another, like w for r or t for k.
Leaving sounds out
nana
Dropping sounds or syllables, like nana for banana.
Lisping
thun
Air escaping between or around the teeth on s and z.
Hard to understand
???
Familiar adults often need to ask your child to repeat.
When to reach out.
If your child is hard to understand for their age, gets frustrated when not understood, or avoids talking, a free call is a good next step.
Preschoolers
Ages 3 to 5
Playful practice with toys and books, and short games you can repeat at home.
School-age kids
Ages 6 to 12
Targeted practice for tricky sounds like r, s and th, from single words to conversation.
Teens
13 and up
Discreet practice that fits busy schedules, for sounds that never quite settled.
What to expect
A play-based evaluation of about 60 minutes. We listen to every sound in words and in conversation, and check how the mouth moves.
